I get it. I did the exact same thing. But it's almost never the fix.

You're not bad at this. You've just been learning one random free pattern at a time, which means every single project is a brand new start.

I wrote a book with sixty knots in it. This course teaches eight.

I tied every one and photographed every step, and it took forever.

It's genuinely one of my favorite things I've made, and it's the book you want next to you when you're designing your own pieces.

The right projects, in the right order.

Every project in Macrame Spark uses the knots from the one before it, plus a little something new.

You're not sitting there doing drills. You're making a mini wall hanging, then a plant hanger, then another one, then something a little bigger.

And somewhere around project three, you'll notice your rows are coming out straight. Your knots look like the ones in the photo. And you're actually relaxed while you make them.

You probably won't even notice it happening.

The order does the work.

The honest version

This course won't teach you sixty knots.

It teaches eight, in five projects that make each one feel easier than the last.

That's the whole idea.

If what you want is a big library of advanced techniques, this isn't it, and I'd rather tell you now than take your money.

But if you've made a few things and they came out all squiggly, and you're tired of feeling like everyone else got a macrame manual you didn't, this is the one I built for you.

I'm the person behind Marching North. I've been teaching macrame, crochet, and all kinds of fiber arts since 2019, and more than 450 people have taken Macrame Spark since it first came out in 2022.

I'm a visual learner myself, which is why every lesson in this course has both video and written instructions.

And I remember struggling through my first macrame wall hanging. Everything slanted to the right, my double half hitch knots looked like a seismograph readout, and every finished piece went in a drawer or onto the weird upper part of the living room wall you can only see from the back corner.

I built this course so you can skip that part.

And then I rebuilt this whole course in 2024, added a fifth project, and reshot the lessons that were bugging me.

Nobody asked me to, but I'm really happy with how it turned out.
